Got a desktop pc running XP Pro that keeps turning itself of after a few minutes and sometimes during startup :aargh4:. i managed to keep it running long enough to get 90% of the stuff i wanted off it but now it wont stay on long enough to get the rest.
I have taken the hard drive out and hooked it up to old tower that is running 98, but how do i access the xp hard drive to get stuff from it :1zhelp::1zhelp::1zhelp:
cheers Paul :beerchug:

Your XP drive is probably using NTFS (NT filing system), which can't be read by a native Windows 98 system.
There are several utilities available to allow you to read an NTFS disk using win98.
The first one that showed up on google for me was this one (http://www.diskinternals.com/products/ntfs-reader/), which is freeware.
I have not used this, so hopefully it'll work for you.
The other option is to plug your disk into another XP system. If you have a spare one.
