Just had new Golf on its first long run. From home up to St Fergus near Peterhead on Monday and back down the road today.

Run is approx 190 miles and is mostly dual carriageway and A-road for about the last 30 miles and a wee bit of urban around Aberdeen.

On the way up I got (according to the computer) 65.1 mpg and on the way back down (with A/C on) 63.3 mpg. This was sitting between 65 and 70 mph with the occasional short spell of 75+ to pass slower traffic.

I am really impressed with this and to add to the impressive fuel economy the Golf was faultless in every other way:D

Very impressive, especially with a tight new engine and big fat 18s.

Nice one andywell. ;)

After coming from 25 mpg in my last car on a good day, I too am very happy with my choice of GT TDI.

Hi
Good results, My best return on a longer journey has been 66.1 MPG with the display now showing average 54.7 MPG for the 5000 miles I have so far done. I know these are only indicated and a llittle optimistic but still I am very happy so far and as you say only adds to the good feeling about the car.
