Hi everyone :)

The other day I was on the motorway and my abs light and traction control light came on and stayed on. I did a quick google and most people seem to think it could be the abs sensor on one of the wheels.

I don't have a Vag-com cable so I was wondering if I could test each individual sensor without one ?

Thanks

It would be daft to avoid having a fault code read, your could chase your tail around in circles using an oscilloscope on each sensor when a fault code read at an indi costs about £30.

You can, although it is a lot more work than using a diagnostic tool.Remove the contact on each of the sensors, and connect a multimeter to the sensor, using AC volt, spin the wheel and check the reading, the faster you spin the wheel the higher the voltage. This will only indicate if the sensor itself is ok at a relative low rpm,The proper way to check the sensors is in measured block vaues.

Thanks for the replies, Looks like I will have to stick it in the garage.
