I own a Golf Mk 4 1.9 TDI W Reg which has the standard 15" wheels on it at the moment, sized 195/65/15. I was looking into replacing them with larger alloys possibly RS6 or RS8 style. I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what the biggest size of wheel that can go onto my car without any arch work being required? Are 18" alloys possible to fit?

Thanks in advance!

Ive had 2 mk4's and 18's go on no problem with 225/45/18. Ive got audi A8 wheels on at the minute. Beware that the tyre's arent cheap when you come to replacing them. £70 for budgets

Also, ive seen 19's on a mk4 with no arch mods. Tyres were only 1" thick. Not a comfortable ride. Ive got mine lowered 35mm too and still no scraping

Cheers for the info mate, much appreciated!
Think i'm going for the 18"s on 225/45/18 tyres and doubt i'll be lowering at all so thats all good!
19"s on ultra skinny rubber sounds a bit mental!
Thanks mate!
