Hi again,

I've been searching through this forum and others for info on cruise control retofitting. I keep finding references to the following websites:

http://www.audiretrofit.co.uk/

http://www.harddrive.plus.com/Documents/A4/A4%20Cruise%20Control.pdf

Neither of them appear to exist any more.

Have they been relocated?
Has anyone got a copy of the guides from these sites?

It sounds like they could be quite useful.

Thanks for any info.

Cheers,

Xizor :D

ive booked these guys below to fit cruise on my Audi next sat, been reading the feedback and they sound excellent so cant wait & only £240 which will pay it self on increased mpg on motorway runs and help me be more lazy.

Multitronic and cruise control, the car might as well drive it self :D

I hate to disappoint you Mr Meeks, but I think you'll find that using cruise will actually increase your mpg!

Hazzy Dayz are an excellent company and I'm sure you will get great service. I just want to have a go at doing it myself.

Cheers.

Of course, what I meant was DECREASE your mpg. D'oh!

Seriously????
i thought keeping at a set speed which has a good mpg on the trip computer would do wonders for the overall mpg.

Yeah, the problem is the cruise maintains the constant speed up hills which really uses the fuel. When you drive 'manually' you tend to slow down a bit going up hills and speed up going down.

Did you ever see the Top Gear episode where Clarkson took a diesel A6 to Edinburgh and back on a single tank? He quickly discovered the same problem.

Cheers :)

Cheers :)It was an A8 wasn't it, huge car and some great ad for them. Amazed he made it. Pity he has changed his tune on Audi drivers since though, the ****!

Basically any thing that becomes popular he changes his tune about so its a bit fake really.

So xizor are you stating that he didn't use cruise because it used up to much petrol?

Yes I am.

However, don't get me wrong, if you drive at a constant speed I expect the cruise control would use less fuel than a human. But, if you want high mpg you need to slow down up the hills and fly down the other side!

Cheers ;)
