A large chunk of paint has come away from the wiper arm's head (forgive me if this is the wrong terminology) exposing the bear metal.
Should I just rub down and make good with black hammerite or are they any better solutions?
Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with my wiper arms, you can see the primer looked awful, so I painted with Hammerite and now its gone :)

Best bet instead of hammerite as i thought it looked messy when i did it..
Then i did the below.
Remove both wipers arms,
Prep with circular wire bush and wet and dry..
Then spray paint with black car paint, and lacquer
