Help me change drive shaft gators?? 2003 A6 1.9 TDi Saloon

Hi All,

This is my first post, but I need to get my drive shaft gators replaced TODAY!!! I can't find a mechanic at such short notice so I'm going to attempt this myself. I did this once, ages ago on an old Renault 5 and remember it was a pain to do, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice/tips or tricks on how to do this? There is no Haynes manual for the A6 yet :(

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

hi mate
you can get something called a cone from any good spares shop.this is a very handy plastic cone for fitting boots all you do is buy a stretchy cv boot also at any good spares shop no need for circlip pilliers and hands full of grease. if you need advice on how it works let me know or if you want to lend mine im in bacup in lancashire.
