I have recently collected a new Tiguan with Bluetooth but struggling to get my phone to work as it is not compatible. I have been told that only Nokias work with the system but I dont want to go out and buy a new phone if that is not the case? as I have only had my Sony E phone a couple of months. If it is only Nokia that is compatible, is there any particular phone? Any help appreciated.

Hi, I am in the same boat, bought the car have a nice new Blackberry Storm 9500, It will connect but is a bit flakey! Reading some other forums it appears the 510 Sat Nav system has Nokia based software, however most of the "N" series Nokias will work, you need to look for RSAP or SAP phones !
Hope this helps a little, I am going to buy another cheep nokia for mine and see if that works!

Ah just seen this thread http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=40295

Hi, I went for the Nokia 6500 which works in terms of it syncs with the cars bluetooth and the phone book is recognised. However I now have a different problem - I now get a "no network message" on the phone and in the car when the Bluetooth is connected. As soon as I disconnect the Bluetooth, the signal comes back on my phone?!?!??! Can anyone help???

I can't help i'm afraid but get exactly the same problem, still awating a solution from the dealer at the moment.

I have succesfully connected a Samsung Tocco (f-480) and Blackberry bold but they aren't that reliable at auto connection.

Well i've managed to sort my Blackberry Bold issue (signal dropping off) by updating my OS to the latest available on the Desktop Manager software. So not really a phone kit issue more the phones issue.

And also got the wifes Samsung SGH-F480 (tocco) to transfer its phone book, if you are having problems with phonebook transfer connect the phone in question, get into the menu on the small dash screen and go to settings-phonebook-update phonebook and then choose either sim and phone, sim only or phone only. my premium defaults to sim and phone but changing to sim only the samsung loaded up first time.

Did you have to do anything special to get the Tocco to connect? Just got one yesterday and cant for the life of me get it to work. Goes as far as saying 'connecting' on the dash and then it times out and says 'connection failure'. I've tried 2 phones now but to no avail.

Did you have to do anything special to get the Tocco to connect? Just got one yesterday and cant for the life of me get it to work. Goes as far as saying 'connecting' on the dash and then it times out and says 'connection failure'. I've tried 2 phones now but to no avail.

It took a while but it was all to do with the 16 digit code, I think from the phones menu I selected bluetooth - Search - and then dragged the VW premium icon into the centre bluetooth icon. I'll have a check when I get home as the Tocco is my wifes phone and it was a few months back now. If you have already paired then the premium kit will also need to be set to be an authorised device on your phone.

If I try to connect from the phone by selecting search for bluetooth it doesnt find the VW bluetooth. If I select search for devices from the dashboard in the car, the car will find the phone, it then asked to enter the 16 digit code (which I do) the phone then asks me to confirm the connection, which I do, and then the car says 'connecting' and the phone says 'remote sim mode active'. However, the phone never fully connects to the car, and then after about 3 mins it seems to time out and the tentative connection made seems to time out.

Can anyone help? Have lost count of the times I've tried connecting it now!

Just a quick note for those who may like me be entering 4 digit codes eg

0000
or
1111

as shown on the Tiguan display, you need to enter ALL of the numbers as a 16 digit code, eg..

0000111122223333

If not you may get both "No Authorisation" message and the "Mobile Phone Incompatible" message depending on how you misconnected.

Also for those with BlackBerrys, the Blackberry expects to insert a NUMERIC code, there is no need to hold down the alt button to switch to numbers, it is already in numeric mode and you will be switching back to letters by holding down the alt key.

(Which plonker decided blanking passwords with asterix's was a smart idea, ******* clever!!)

I can now proudly report RIM Blackberry Curve 8520 works well with the Tiguan Premium Bluetooth.

Sorry if that doesn't help anyone above, but I scoured the forum searching for an answer before I came up with the solution with the help of VW service.

I'm loving the Tiguan.. cool motor.. loving it :biglaugh:

I have just taken delivery of a 2010 Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 170 with the premium bluetooth and it works perfectly with a Nokia 6730 Classic (problem being i hate the phone!!!). The general rule of thumb is that the phone has to be rSAP (remote SIM access profile) compatible as has been previously mentioned. But i can confirm that the Nokia 6730 is fully functional.

I know this thread is old, but was I researching VW Bluetooth systems ahead of collection of my new Golf on 1st Sept which has the Premium Bluetooth Kit. (Its an SE - so it is the "Rsap" type premium kit - not the new type of Bluetooth that was introduced with Match model)

I have previously established that my Nokia 6500s should work with this. :nervous: I was trying to find out whether it will do things like download phone book from my phone etc.

Anyway if it helps anyone else I did find the attached pdf list from VW which has a useful list of compatible phones/features with the vw premium bluetooth system.

Had my system replaced by my dealer in the end, took out the premium and installed this http://www.bespokeautotech.co.uk/vehiclespecific_vwseatskoda.htm#phone

integrated with the RCD510 touch screen as per premium kit but will not take SMS or allow voice dialling, works on every phone i have tried so far.

Same problem with an iPhone!... 'incompatible' A conversation with a local dealer revealed that, some earlier chassis numbers were installed with Nokia based Bluetooth modules!!! These are not compatible with iPhone and some other makes of mobile. From another source I've been told that VW have replaced some of these 'Nokia' biased modules, free of charge!

Haven't heard anything about a replacement Bluetooth module but, but had the Tiggy nearly 2 weeks now and still impressed! Decided on selective use of the 'Auto Hold' feature on handbrake as I don't like leaving it in garage with handbrake on for long periods. (I would most likely forget to release it after a week or so on auto!) Wife now wants one!:drive:...a Tiguan not a handbrake!!
