I have a 2.5 TDI Passat 2001 model with 100k on the clock. However, I'm having the following problem with the clutch: -
It is fine for most of the time, no slippage, juddering etc but occasionally after a longish journey or the car being driven hard the clutch will start to slip - increase in revs but no increase in speed. This happened one day a couple of thousand miles ago and then the problem disappeared until yesterday. The car has had a new clutch previously at approx 50k (only replaced as gearbox out to fix an oil leak).
I can only think that there is contamination getting on the clutch plate (I do have an oil leak, but this has been there for the last 20k).
The car is chipped but has been for most of its life without problem.
Any thoughts?
