Hi.
Went out to my 2004 A6 1.9Tdi Multitronic at lunchtime, which started normally but would not rev past 1500 rpm.
I was on the verge of phoning the AA (my Audi dealer said they could not look at it for a week) and drove it down the road upon which it cleared and seems to drive normally.
If I am being picky I would say that the engine does not seem to respond quickly to the throttle as normal.
Any ideas?

Firstly, are you familiar with the bbc comedy the office?
If so, phone said dealer and have a conversation like this...
Them - "Hello Audi (insert name here) dealer"
You - "yes, hello, can I speak with the servicing department please?"
"One moment please".......
Them - "Hello service department"
You - "Co*k!" (and hang up).
Them - ........................
Right, that'll make you feel better.
Now find your nearest independant Audi specialist and give them a call. From reading on here it could be the MAF? Could be going into 'limp' mode? I'm not a diesel man but I hope this helps.

Why would you shout 'Cork' at them? :dunno:

think I had similar problem..it was a problem in the gearbox...they changed some hydraulic thing and now all is fine....
Problem i used to have was I would pull up at roundabout say and then be unable to rev it and even in Drive it went nowhere..deselecting D and then re-engaging seemed to sort it...good luck
