I am about to order a new A4 quattro s line but can't decide which suspension to go for. I believe the car comes with sports suspension (20mm below normal) as standard but I have an option to go with s line suspension (30mm below standard). I am worried that the s line suspension will be too hard. Has anyone got any advice please? Is the difference between sports and s line suspension that noticeable (in terms of ride) ?

I've never ridden on the 30mm drop but I read someone say recently that they didn't notice much difference.

Bear in mind 30mm drop means you can't have 19" wheels... just in case thats what you was thinking of.

Excellent comment, Just the answer I would of given.
One other point I would say is -30mm + 18's would give a similar ride to -20mm + 19's , but that is just my opinion.

I've got 19''s on my order and the worry is it won't look low enough, like a Paris Dakar!

Any pics of 19'' on 20mm drop?

Bear in mind that all these car are newish and the final height won't be known for about 6 months due to the springs having to settle.
When I dropped my golf the difference between new and when I sold it was about 10 or 12mm and that was after the -25mm they dropped the car when compared to the OEM springs.

As you can see in Plife's pics ->

the gap around the wheel is approx the same all round. If you drop more then IMHO if goes beyond the point of looking good and starts looking like you're trying to slam it low.

It's an Audi A4 and not some yank tank on hydraulics.

20mm is enough ;)
