RCD300 to RCD510 on a '55 GT Tdi

Hi guys,

Firstly, hello... First post and all that! :)

I currently have the bog standard RCD300 (without mp3 playback) in my 55 plate Golf GTtdi (pre face lift) and was wondering if I could literally just replace it with an RCD510 with no problems?

I've heard problems of run-down batteries and such like and was just after some further confirmation on whether this is true or not, or whether I need adaptors, etc?

The RCD 500 is a straight swap, but if the RCD 510 is the new version and the superior model to the RCD 310, you may want to read this thread.
