A4 quattro aerial amp cracked

I have removed the trim above the rear window of my A4 quattro sport 1.9tdi and I can see it is cracked. I presume this is what's causing the really annoying crackling and hissing when I drive through poorer radio reception areas (other people's radios are fine in these areas). I did notice when I had the trim off that there are an extra set of clips to the left of the amplifier. It looks as if the amplifier fitted is the wrong size? The part number is 8E5 035 225 D. Does anyone know if this is the original part number or has somebody fitted and amplifier that had the right connections but was the wrong size? (The connectors for the different radio bands are yellow grey and grey.)

I am very close to spending about £85 on a replacement but I'm not even sure it's the right one? Please help.
