Golf 1.6 Mk4 Engine Cover Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the engine cover on a 1.6 Mk4 Golf ?

I can not see what is holding the thing in place.

Could you post a picture of it?

I think, but I'm not sure, it's a simple upward tug.

i agree with sam, mines a tdi, but should be the same principle, there are 3 'lugs' that hold mine in place, try loosening the front two first and then pull upwards from the back for the 3rd.... there aren't any bolts that i am aware of...

You are right - a harder tug than I was expecting.

The car is now fully serviced.
