has anyone driven a 1.4 eos. There seems to be quite positive reviews of it around

Seems a good bet for petrol and insurance consceous people around.

Thoughts?

Hi what model is it, as i believe there are 2 different 1.4 models.

Can you do a mini review or give me some details on performace, mpg and what price you got yours for, did you have any extras etc.

thanks in advance
Louis

There are indeed two 1.4 engines, I have the smaller one. I was first looking June last year at the TDI for the obvious mpg side and then these new TSI engines came on the scene and on paper the performance and mpg were very similar. Test drove the smaller 1.4 ( could not really afford the bigger one !) three times as I was truly amazed at the performace but could not quite believe it - Ok it won't set the world on fire but it really is quite nippy. It needs to be worked a bit more through the gears but I found it so much smoother than the TDI and less harsh if that makes sense . Also by going through a broker (www.autobytel.co.uk (http://www.autobytel.co.uk)) I was able to get a new 1.4TSI for less than a 2nd hand TDI. I paid 18341 for mine which includes the windbreak and Lux pack (well worth it)
Hope that helps
