1.9tdi pd awd esp

The car is 3.5 years old and done 18,000 miles. The ESP light is on and the diagnostic check reveals a Pressure sensor indicates 200 bar when it should be +/- 9 bar. The garages reports that the whole ABS/ESP unit has to be changed at a cost of £1200 plus labout and vat.
Has anyone encountered this problem or is it not as they think. I'm afraid I do not have the error codes, I am posted this for a friend at some distance.

many times and its a very common fault and a common price 1085 plus vat i think i paid for a touran last week.................might be worth a shout up at your local dealer you might get an offer towards the repair bill......................might................... ..........then again..............might not..

take it to a main delear and ask them to check goodwill

may get 100% @ that mileage

26K miles and mine needed changing Got 50% goodwill from Skoda. Dealer said they had changed a few lately. Seems to be a common faillure. Not good for relativly ow milage cars!!
