a3 keeps cutting out

recently got an a3 1.8t quattro couple of things none standard eg exhaust , air induction kit, whilst driving sometimes when i accelerate epc light illuminates acceleration dies but engine still runs does anyone know what this is thanks...

hi i had a problem with my a3 it turned out to be the cam shaft sensor which is tucked in behind the cam belt wheel
