Crazy indicator/signals

Hi Again,
Having a really strange one. When I indicate to go left or right, the signal flashes 5 or 6 times completely randomly and really not at its usual rythm, and then goes off, the lever remains pressed either up or down, it's not that it cuts off after I've turned, as thats normal. It doesn't seem to affect the hazard warning light switch though, as this operates normally. Any ideas?

I had this on my old 51 plate Leon Cupra (similar switch). It started off not affecting the hazards but as time went on it eventually did. I would imagine it will be the hazard switch which needs replaced.

What Mikey says...

The hazard switch also contains the flasher relay, so swapping that is likely to solve the problem.
