I wanted to see measuring blocks for my engine with an original VAG-Com cable and the option was disabled. Does anyone tried that before?

Should not be disabled unless VAG-COM cannot find the label file for the module. Particulars?

Version?
Interface Type?

I should have seen it the first time but .....

The B8 A4 uses the new protocol from VW/Audi called UDX/ODS/ASAM. Advanced Measuring Blocks is the only function that will work with your '09 A4.

More on that can be read in the last Beta Notes Release: Beta812Notes (http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/beta/812.html)

I've tried yesterday what you told me but measuring blocks and advanced measuring blocks are both disabled. When i install vcds 904.0 version does it populate automaticly with lebel files or i have to download them?
Did anyone manged to read measuring blocks to a 2.0tdi engine?

Ok, this should have worked. We have filed a bug report with development guys to see if they can discover the problem.

Please keep in mind, you have a very new car with all technology in it. We are always trying to keep up with all the changes VW/Audi make. Please be patient. We will work this out.

Your engine is not even available on this side of the pond. It is very new.

By the way, find another tool on the market that can talk to your car at any price. Then find one of those that can talk to these measuring blocks you desire to talk to.

Care to guess how many tools on the market can do it?

It's a bug. We'll work on it and try to get a fix for the problem.

you got me wrong....i am not saying that VCDS it's not good it's the greatest....it's better than VAS. I am just wondering if this problem can be fixed.

I have heard nothing from the design guys that they have resolved this. 805.4 did supply some new label files and such which could have an impact but - as said, I do not have confirmation of a fix.

What,i use Vas 15.10.00 and vcds 805 and 904,how can you say vcds is better than vas when its based on vas pc.Advantage of vcds is the long code helper because this info is only avaliable from Audi service net as all long code changes for 8k are online server only. Both have there uses but i will still be buying a recon vas 5052 simply for gff i also use gfs light V12 as a reference for vcds which helps for missing info on rosstech wiki if you need mvb info you need vas pc version 14 onwards and use the function description which list all measured value meanings

I have the answer from the man!

There's no measuring block info in the ROD file for that ECU in the current ROD dataset. This will hopefully be cured in the next data-set build.

This being a UDS ECU, it's impossible for VCDS to display measuring value info without such data in the ROD file.

It will never be fixed in an 805 version since 805 doesn't support measuring data on UDS ECUs at all. Measuring values on UDS modules has only been supported since version 812.

Best,

-Uwe-

Translation: Next Beta 9XX should have a fix for this. Release date of the next Beta has not been scheduled as yet.

That will be a great help.will 3g (5f) mmi long code helper be updated,as i am trying to work out if the ipod/ami function can be enabled as i have the flash cd rom update to adjust the hard drive.I use vcds along side vas pc and find vcds very easy to use and a great mobile tool for retro fits

If you will look at my last post, no timetable was given. I reiterate: no date has been announced for a new Beta.
