How to put an A3 on axle stands

Hi all,

Where do I put axle stands on a A3 1.9TDi (2000). I probably won't know the technical terms so please explain using small words! A photo would be great. Sorry to ask a dumb question but I haven't done this before.

3 years after posting the above message I find myself looking for the same information again!

Hopefully by posting these images I will help others. Please would you confirm that the pictures show the correct / acceptable location for axle stands and trolley jack on an Audi A3.

Prior to installing the trolley jack I removed a plastic plug from the hole into which the jack fits.

If someone could post similar pic for the front that would be great.

Look for a dimple about the size of a 5p piece on the sill; that is the jacking point. The tool jack face is shaped to go around the crimp of the sill - I wouldn't jack elsewhere as the sill is re-inforced at the jacking point but may not be elsewhere.
