Hi All,

Can any explain each of the values from the measuring blocks for the below??

Taken from a Audi A4, 1.9TDI Quattro, 2003 -

Im guess the 33 bar is the aircon pressure??

Got an issue with the ECON button staying on and will not turn off,, see below.

Thanks for your help!

pressure sender is defective, pressure should be 8.0 bar and amp reading shows the compressor is inactive because the pressure switch reading shuts it off HENCE DEFAULT 33 BAR
Remove the nsf headlight and you will see the aircon pressure switch mounted to the condenser, you can replace this without degassing the system

Cheers mate,

Going to pick up a sensor tommorrow from Audi... whats the going rate for one of these sensors??

Also, what do you know what stock grading it has 1-10 ?

£30 ish and should be in stock as common failure on B6

I have an A8 and my pressure sender jumps from anywhere between 8-13bar up to 33bar in m/sec's and then few seconds later back again, if the sender is failing does the ecu revert to 0bar or 33bar, is it the sensor. I also notice that the cold air i do get only comes through the drivers left vent all others are warm and the settings are sync'ed. Any ideas?

default 33 bar
possible sensor or blockage or compressor
drain and flush then regas and check with a a/c station to see what the high and low pressure states are.Vcds is no good in this situation

I have been looking to find the sensor to see if I can replicate this problem by running the aircon then disconnecting it, if it does go up to 33bar then is this not the fault? Where is the sensor as the 4.2 V8 takes up all the room and i cannot see it? When running the compressor shows 0.7Amps and about 90% load the other load shows about 30% what are the load variables, one is obviously compressor load 90% how about the other?
Thanks for your help.

Thankl you for your swift reply, I have managed to locate sensor and tried mimicking fault however all that happens is it sits at its last known value. I have an aircon eng booked to look however another suggestion is that there is no flow over the cooling coils cause ice and thus high pressure which means an aircon eng would not help, is this possible? I have no faults apart from 00819 intermittant and cant get to evaporator to look at it. Since my last reset and running the car for about 30mins I have no fault but also only one vent (driver left) get cold and nowhere near what i would expect. Any suggestions?

Ok its best to check what the line pressure shows as there may be a blockage.
expansion valve,restrictor valve.
I would love to input more but at this stage we need to establish high and low pressure readings.
when we can see what's going on then its possible to move forward.
as for the vents then it may be a case of inspecting the heater box operation and flow.
Lots to consider but some pointers will reduce time and localise the problem
