Hi All,
I am having a problem sporadically with my air conditioning on my A3 1.8T (2001). Sometimes it works fine when I switch it on.
Other times, when I switch it on, the Revs on the car drop to 500 ish and then go back up to normal level, then every 10 seconds or so, the revs keep dropping back down to 500 then back up to normal level, until I switch the air con off.
It only happens when the ECON button is OFF.
Has anyone had experience of a similar problem, or know where I could start diagnosing the issue? Im hoping its not a faulty compressor, cos sometimes it works perfectly. The air is coming out cold so no issues there. It just doesnt seem to engage sometimes when it is switched on, and there is a clicking noise before the revs drop.
Any help or input would really be appreciated.
