The exhaust looks better than the MK5.

The exhaust looks better than the MK5.

Certainly does. It always seemed to be hidden underneath on the Mk5.

ncc1701e.....how are you getting on with the 510?

I chose the DAB with my 510.....and with that and decent FM reception, SD Card in the slot, and 6 CD's loaded with MP3's, I'll never be without something to listen to.;)

Hi,

The dynaudio is excellent - the nice thing about it is that it sounds the same in ANY seat in the car - which means always clear nice sound. I am in the process of buying a 32Gb SDHC card (its maximum for HC) from ebay - and i'll have 32Gb of mp3s - which will keep me entertained for quite a while :D

NCC - before buying that HCSD card, are you sure it'll work? Can't get a definitive answer whether the 510 head unit (as fited to the Scirocco i'm getting next week) will take them.

Some say definitely not, only standard SD cards work, others say that the normal 510 unit will recognise HCSD, but the satnav versions (without the multichanger) will only recognise normal SD.

I'd borrow a HCSD card to try before paying out for one.

Ok thanks,

On the manual it says that the the unit also reads SDHC cards with a maximum storage of 32GB.

But it will be good to check before.

Thanks!

Keep us posted - i'll be needing to know when I pick up the Scirocco next Friday!

I could just use the Ipod, mine never leaves the car these days.

Dynaudio have a great reputation. I would have like the Dynaudio upgrade, but couldn't be too fussy when looking for an ex-demo.

I may stick in some JL Audio gear I have sitting on the shelf. Would be interesting to see how that sounds, using the speaker outputs from the RNS510 (I'm assuming there's no line level outputs).

Would you describe the sound as more "exciting" or "laid back" ? I really look for a sound that's laid back and unfatiguing, that slowly grows on you rather than jumping out and grabbing you.
