So I stumbled upon a .:R32 drivetrain and I thought to myself, "Hey, this would be nice to have in my GTi."

So here I am with everything I need minus the trans. There isn't many options for transmissions here in the US. IN fact the 2009 Audi TT is the only I know of.

so I was wondering what you euro peeps get in the 2.0T awp 6mt variant?

The 4 wheel drive shell is different.

Which castings are different?

The main areas are the rear floor and rear chassis leg pressings plus some minor parts for prop shaft support in the main floor

o I got you. Are you sure about that? As far as I've seen the floor pan in the mkv GTi and mkv S3 are identical. The only thing I need to add should be a mount for the drive shaft. the only difference between the floor pans in the mkv GTi and .:R32 is the battery box in the floor of the .:R. The only reason for that is to save room in the engine bay for the larger engine. The S3 has the battery in the front btw.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to figure out any transmission possibilities.

Front wheel drive, 4 motion and R32 models all have different part number body shells but I have never done the swap you are considering. The part numbers for the left rear side members and cross support (chassis legs) are different between FWD and 4WD due as you say to the battery location and the rear cross member for the floor is a different part number as is the boot floor plate, this being on all 4WD not just the R32.

hmmm. I see. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I just need a trans before I start. Thanks for the input though!
