I should say that all I know about cars is how to put the petrol in & then drive badly. However, I am finding that on my 122 mk 6 manual it can sometimes be a struggle to get engage first gear. I have done 300 miles. Is this something that gets better with use or am I driving it wrongly ?

I suggest you take a trip to the dealer,and complain,see what they say,as this is not normal

i have the 122 mk6 and it goes in easy, no problem

Take it back TYB, it could be something as simple as an adjustment, whereas the longer you persevere with it it might cause other issues.

Don't give them opportunity to say "you should have brought it back sooner, yada,, yada, yada."

Yep, take it back to the dealers
