Very pleased to have finally joined the ranks of the Audi Club.:D
Been a VAG head for years. Managed to get a 95' Nreg A4 2.6L .
Its very tidy and every thing works..... except the previous owner removed the cental locking pump ... Now Ive sourced another one and fitted it but nothing!!

ive read all the FAQ's and everything is as should be. The impellor pump is grand. I open/close both drivers and passengers side doors and no response.

Im lost and cant figure where to start. If i replace the pump do i need to reprogram the pump into the ECU ?
My car is very basic and dosent have RF locking so most of the FAQ's wont work !! :aargh4:

Im at my wits end now, any suggestions will be gratefully recived!!

many thanks in advance

The fact that the previous owener removed the pump, could he have removed the fuse too check fuse 14

Checked Fuse 6 as that's what the listing has for central locking!! Ill check 14 too.

ive bought 2 pumps so far both seem completely ******* !! One were different connectors and the other had the dreaded impeller problems.

Getting another pump 2 day.... wish me good luck :-P

Now its 4 Pump units ive tried.!! no luck with any. all fuses are grand working.

Is there a need to reset the unit via vagcom or something? Im lost :-(

Start with the basics, check battery power on the red on blue wire terminal 4,on the 6 pin connector and ignition power on the black on blue pin 1 on the 12 pin connector. The unit does not need resetting

Is the pump simply not responding at all, or does it make a noise & nothing happens?

Im in the middle of tracing a power supply problem !!

Theres only partial power getting to the unit. No motor noise is evident. Ive check and replaced all graphites just incase there dodgy. Motor is fine!

Is it possible that you have the older RF/IR split setup with a 'dumb pump' and separate box under the rear seat bench?

Its possible i know sweet f**k all about this problem !!

I bough a 95 a4 2.6l with no central locking, one key and thats it!!

Ive put 2 supposedly working pump into it but get no response !!

Ive checked and replaced a few fuses, still nothing.

at the rear i have 1 pump line and 3 plugs 1 purple power 1-10 pin and 1-14pin i think.

under my rear seat in the centre there 1 small box . and the left hand side theres another box with bosch on it.??*** ??

On the power plug that supplies the pump pins 1 and 2 are powered and 3 is earthed. only pin 2 is powered in mine. which is why im trying to trace a dead live wire !!

Any ideas dudes ?
