Having problems with A6 130 warning lights - ABS, traction control, glow plug intermittent and temperature gauge gone sick. Would appreciate scan to assist in identifying what needs changing.

Just west of Bedford but no problem to travel.

You scratch my back I will scatch yours........:beerchug:

Thanks

Hi Schomosport,

I've recently got a Gendan cable and downloaded VAG COM software, started to read the documentation. So I consider myself a beginner in that respect, but am South of M.K. so not too far away from Bedford, I guess.

If you fancy dropping by we could see if my kit actually works :D
I need to sort out the central locking on my Mk4 Golf, seems as if it's programmed to unlock the drivers door only - i.e. 2nd press of remote in quick succession doesn't open the rest of the car.

I wonder what method of contact is best, being fairly new to forums,
I guess we should avoid publishing our specific details on the web.

Best Regards
John

Thanks for the Private Message, Schomosport.

I'll send you an e-mail so we can tie up and try out the cable and program, Regards John.

Hello radiojohn, I sent you a private message - hope you receive it OK...

Hi Boycie,

Yes, I still have the kit, you are most welcome to come over, I seem to lack the required number of posts to reply to your private message.
I tried to reply (and suggested you might e-mail me direct) but the system indicated I needed to make more than ten posts before it worked . . . I assume you haven't had a reply from me yet.

I suppose that if we converse via posting, my tally will eventually reach ten, maybe then the private messages will work for me.

I wonder if anyone else has any advice about how to get in touch as well as keeping one's personal details out of the posts.
"A post is not just for Christmas . . . . . ":D

Sudden thought,

I was just wondering how I made contact with schomosport.
He must have sent me his e-mail address, I cant actually remember.

Since you can send messages, boycie, perhaps that's a way forward.

Anyhow this probably counts as another post.

All the best, John

Hi there,

Thanks for the offer of help from Stotfold, the problem we have with our 1.6 Golf is to get the door unlocking to work on the second press of the button on the remote, but since it's not urgent I haven't quite found the time to see what I need to "adjust", the cable and program works OK and we recently diagnosed an engine problem which was then fixed by our local village VW specialist, but he has a commercial tool - good to see our one came up with the same codes.

Boycie is planning to come over sometime to see if light can be shed on his vehicle.

All the best
John
