Air con compressor

Hi all

I have an 2.6e coupe 1995, when it idles the compressor is noisy with the ac off, not so loud or bad when the ac is turned on.

Does anybody have any ideas, where to get a new or refurb one and are there any other makes that will fit like golf vr6 or jag or passat and are they easy to remove one self.

can anybody tell me what engine type i might have.

Hi

Sounds like the electro/mechanical clutch is faulty? As I understand it, there are a few different types of air con compressors used on these cars. Best to check it out and see what you have, EG Zexel, Nippon Denso etc. You may be able to just renew a bearing or the clutch assembly.
