Hi guys,
Has anyone upgraded the power output of a 2.0 TDi 140BHP Audi engine?
My 2006 Audi A6 2.0 TDi S-Line estate is a great car, but coming from a 150BHP MK4 Golf with a chip to take it to 180BHP+ it feels a little sluggish!

Is an engine re-map a possible option? Bigger turbo? Chip? I know some 2.0 TDi engines have 170BHP, is this purely down to a bigger turbo as standard?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

We do SO many of these... They really respond well to tuning.. We have see a few at 180ish on the Dyno's.....:biglaugh:

Every comes back and says the same thing its like having a bigger lump there now..

Hope that helps

Oh and the offer for £280 is still on...

Thanks Mike

do it;)
I had mine taken from 140 to 176 bhp and there was a noticeable difference in both power and fuel economy. The power was most noticeable especially from start as it was really sluggish beforehand.
I got mine done thru Audi to maintain the warranty. If you are out of warranty though I can highly recommend Seditas in Ayr....They did a Ford Mondeo ST Tdci for me taking it from 155bhp to 195bhp......blistering performance.

Motech did my S-Line 07 (Multitronic).

Noticable difference in power which is why I would definately recommend.

Not sure about MPG, I'm still in the old engineering school thinking of 'more power=more oxygen (free) & fuel (not free)'

Can't say I've noticed any difference in MPG (up or down). I got 44MPG on a 70-80mph run down to London (100miles) today.

Definately a good £300 odd quid spent, and Mike knows what he's doing. Prior to him visiting and working on my car, some muppets I took it too were going to take apart the ECU with a Dremmel!!! Needless to say - I walked away!

Hi to all,
i have a 2007 2.0tdi 140bhp multitronic s line avant 7k miles.
i may be interested in power upgrade but am concerned about warrenty status and how would this be affected,is it best to go with audi dealer ? any idea of costs involved also does this cause insurance complications?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Its hard to say really.. We re-map a lot of car's for Northampton and Bedford Audi.. You will pay more from them and its a map just for them too...

The dealer wont see the car has been re-mapped so some guys just dont tell them.

But its up to you..

Sorry to nudge in and hijack the thread .......but.......I'm in the same boat. I have a new A6 2.0 TDI Avant Le Mans edition...I'm told it's 170 bhp. Can I have this car chipped and if so what would be the out come? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey there Pondo....I have the 2.0 tdi std at 140 remapped to 176. I think ( don't quote me ) that this is close to the outer limits of the engine. With you having the Le Mans at 170 on the same engine I'd say they've already got the power upgrade there. I'm guessing that you wouldn't be able to " safely" get much more out of yours, but of course I could be wrong - perhaps one of the remap specialists will be able to advise you?
If it can be done, making sure of no nasty surprises I'd say you can usually go for around 25% power gains which would take youras to around 215bhp.
Please check with someone in the know though to double check......A call to Audi themselves to ask the question / advice probably wouldn't go amiss.

Good luck

The latter A6's run with the new CR lump (common rail) very nice to tune.. we do a far few of them for our local Audi dealer.. Good gains to be had both in power MGP and responce..

Thanks Mike
