Hi all, just wondering if anyone could fill me in on some gaps, thinking of buying a sat nav for the golf. on the unit it has an aux button, does this allow for an easy way to plug in an ipod, via a headphone jack or if not how would i go about getting an ipod plugged into the sat nav unit or is there an easy way to have ipod musinc through the unit?? is the unit fairly easy to install and do i need to do anything major i.e. wiring to make the unit work?

thanks

hi, think thats the model before the rns510 (dvd) one. from my understanding all the units can operate/run an ipod via the connector block at the back which the ipod connection goes into. I know the vw ones are a straight plug in and play. hope this helps (sorry not a elctro buff only replying via previous experience of having an ipod connected when i owned an audi a4. it was a single cable that was fitted in glovebox and connected into the rear of the standard audi head unit.

lads.

It'll be the MFD2 unit like i used in me guide. That unit has a bespoke multimedia socket on the rear of the unit for which an adapter can be bought (not from vw) off ebay. I have one and its great. It allows audio and video to be connected up. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DVD-TV-Multimedia-Adapter-for-all-VW-MFD2-and-all-RNS2_W0QQitemZ310131085192QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Au dioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems?hash=item31 0131085192&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 this link will expier soon.

If you were to go down the xcarlink then their adapter uses the cdp player socket i think (i'll stand corrected).

How did you get on with the cd changer chris? you didn't reply to your otherthread.
