Fuel economy MAF?

My passat b5 1.8T is using a lot of fuel 25 mpg average with grandad driving. Pluged it into VAGcom and found no codes but the fuel trim looks wrong, first trim, idle is -0.6 and the second is +25 .
took is for a drive and at 6280 rpm @100% throttle the air flow is 65.97 grams a second.
Do I have a dodgy AFM?

How many miles/when was last major service with plugs and filters etc?

Just done all filters and plugs on mine at 120k and it has made a huge difference to how it runs even with an intermittent 16497 error which is a MAF error. You can feel it holding back/fliffing on a quite random basis either when accelerating or cruising but there is no misfire error.
