The question is in the title really. Ive just retro fitted an OEM iPod Dock in the centre armrest, using the cable for a CD Changer.

Plug the iPod in and it comes up with the VW logo, and it works on the headunit as it should, but at the bottom of the iPOD screen it says charging is not supported for this attachment.

I was just wondering if that was right or have i done my wiring wrong?

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi,

Which IPOD are you using.??

it maybe a red herring... but i have got a classic Ipod, and a new 4th gen Nanno the classic changes fine on my BOSE ipod dock/system in the home... but the 4th gen IpOD does not..

After looking into it, Apple changed the charging pins around on the new 4th gen Nanno product, i think it was a move to stop a lot of the 3rd party non approved China/Hong Kong import docking stations.. ((from what i have read))

Just thought i would share that incase your using that ipod...

You are right.

Ive tried two different iPod's and the new nano does not charge, but the old nano does.

Thanks for the reply.

That was a bit crafty of apple, and a bit annoying for us too!
