Got an amp in a 2005 A6 avant (new shape) that blew due to water damage from a leaking rear wash wipe pipe. It's a basic system, not a Bose one.

Have swapped the amp over with a 2006 model, however the driver's side speakers don't work at all. The speakers have been tested and are all good. The music, Sat Nav and Phone work out of all the other speakers.

Upon closer inspection have noticed that the part code for the 2006 amp is one letter different to the original amp:-

2005 Code : 4F0 035 223
SW: 4F0 910 223B

2006 Code : 4F0 035 223
SW: 4F0 910 223G

Thinking that this slight difference in the code was relevant, we have tried another amp manufactured two months prior to the 2005 one, with the same code..........now there is no music sound out of any speakers, but the Sat Nav and the Phone work out of all speakers!!

I'm now begining to think that you have to 'install' an amp when it is introduced into the MMI system.....does anyone have any knowledge of this issue please?

According to the drawing set tthe 05 and the 06 amps are completely different One is a digital amp system and the 05 is not. Is the amp mounted on a Bass speaker behind the O/S rear lights. What radio do you have. Regards Peter
