Basically if anybody living in Essex, or nearby who owns VAG COM could help me this weekend, i would very much appreciate it!

I need to get two warning lights cleared that have appeared after i removed my steering wheel.

I will travel to meet anybody at their home or wherever, so if anybody is willing id be very grateful.

Hi, not sure if you have seen this thread or tried this to get rid of them warning lights. Check this link out, it might do the trick http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/156872.aspx

If the below warnings lights are the ones you are talking about then hopefully this will help.

The following dash lights will light up and stay on constantly:
Power steering

ESP:

At this stage you probably brick it.
Dont worry this doesnt mean messing with VAG COM or a trip to the dealers.
To estinguish the Power steering light do the following:
One full lock of the steering wheel to the left
Straighten the wheel
One full lock to the right
Straighten wheel
Drive foward not goin over 5 MPH and the light should go out.
This needs to be done because the Steering angle sensor was knocked out due to the slip ring being moved.
The other light simply press the ESP button, turn off the car, Start the car and press the ESP button again and it should go out.
If they don't then this means you will have to go to the dealer to have it reset unless you are a wizz with trusty VAG COM.

Let me know

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

I was using that guide to help me change my wheel actually! I've taken it off once before and i did just that to clear the lights, but this time the car is winning and not letting me get rid of them.

The steering wheel light is yellow, giving me reduced power steering which is a big pain!

Thanks,

Matthew

I had that problem with mine a while ago after disconnecting the battery. When i re-connected that same light came on and at first a paniced but later after reading the manual it was the norm after power loss. The cue according to the guide is drive the car over 5mph should cure it.

Try disconnecting the battery again for a while and re-connecting !!!!

If not i think its a visit to the ******** or fingers x'd some 'friend' on here has vagcom and lives local to you.

Good luck.
