Cold starting

Having a bit a a problem with cold starting on a 1.6 s reg petrol. Any one any idea to common problems.

The car has good diagnostic capabilities so take it to a garage and get it read for fault codes, it will cost between £25 and £30 at an indi. It is probably the coolant temperature sender that is at fault.
