dsg launch control

hello all new member here..

just a quick question i have a mk6 golf 1.4 tsi 122 7-dsg have i got launch control and if so how do i now without trying it because i havent fully run in the engine yet?

This is an easy test goes as follows:

Pop it in Sport

ESP OFF

Left Foot on Brake

Floor the gas

If it holds at 3000 rpm - launch control working

If it wont rev past 2000rpm - launch control not activated

i wouldnt advise using it too often, your clutches will cry:biglaugh:

Sitting at a red light holding 3000rpm until the lights change - you'll look a right ******.

Answer: wear a balaclava while doing it.

I was about to ask exactly the same question - well a variant of it anyway.

I have a 1.4TSI(122) with the 7 speed DSG (in a Dec 08 Golf Plus) when I ordered it April last year I asked the salesmen about Launch Control (LC) and he said it would come with it.

However I am now told (by local VW dealer) that the 7 speed dry clutch DSG does not have LC - is this true ? - dose anyone here have a 7 speed dry clutch DSG with LC ?
