I've recently had the 1st and 2nd gear synchroniser rings replaced on my gearbox. I can now get a very smooth 1-2 shift but only if I'm driving in a straight line! My gears are still quite baulky first thing in the morning, particularly in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but they have definitely improved overall.

Anyway, if I change from 1-2 whilst turning a corner (pulling out from a junction) I get a big clunk and a judder through the gear stick! Why does this happen? Can anyone shed any light on this as it's a right pain, especially seeing as I've just had a 1100 repair job done! :zx11:

Also, it seems I get a better shift when changing at higher revs than normal, which I don't quite understand.... If I shift at around 2500 RPM it's clunky, whereas if I change up at 3000+ it's like butter. Surely, logic tells me that the opposite should happen.

Anyone got any answers as I'm all out of ideas....? I'm really losing patience with what is otherwise a flawless car. This whole thing spoils the entire car for me
