Dodgy electrics

Got a Fabia VRS on 53 plate and electrics started to do silly things. When you open front passenger door the interior light comes on then fades straight away, also opened drivers door with fob got in and after short while the car locked and alarmed itself, luckily had the keys in my hand. Was told by garage that later cars will do this if the key is not put in the ignition but this has never happened before, normally once you've opened the door you are ok. They suggest that water is leaking from pollen filter and soaking the floor pan, as happens on Passats, but have not heard of this problem with the Fabia. Have had a couple of diagnostics done over last 12 months and it has never shown any faults. Did have a lot of blowing bulbs recently but that was cured with a new earth strap. Any help would be appreciated.

have a scan on the central locking system,im not familiar with skodas but that suggests a fault on a door lock unit ...worth a scan first...
