stoopid question? A4 1.9TDi Avant Quattro

Hi Guys,
Forgive me if this is a stoopid question. I HAVE looked in the manual!

I've just bought a 2003 A4 avant quattro 1.9TDi, my 2nd (last was a 1998).
Now I expected to get the on board computer selection options like averge MPG etc. by using the selection buttons on the windscreen wiper stalk (like my 1998 and like the manual says). BUT, the buttons aren't there! Am I missing something?

Yes....your missing DIS (driver info sys.)
Not all cars came with it but if you have a search round this site you will find people who have retrofitted it.

Hi,
I'm checking out the following sat nav on ebay

Can you confirm its the right one? I guess the climate control module *simply* slides lower down in the console to make room for the sat nav?

the heater controls need to be replaced if you have a single din cage because you also need to replace the single din cage with a double din cage so it start getting expensive.
The cage retails at £35 but the double din heater controls can be picked up for £150
hazzydays normally has a few double din heater controls listed on ebay

If you get a new climate control just be careful as the newer ones (later letters) require a relay to get the heated windows to work as Audi changed the way they worked (well for the cabriolet at least).

Easy enough job but you need to know how relays work and have a copy of elsawin for the wiring digrams.
