A number of local garages where I live, in High Peak, are in this scheme. Some have glowing testimonials. When I looked into it a bit more, it seems that the scheme is run, in part at least, by a lubricant company call Forte (I thought they did Hotels:confused:).

Anybody have any views on this? Also, would you use a non specialist local garage to service/repair your car?

Whilst I wouldn't trust firms like Kwik Fit who now do cheap servicing, I wonder if we really do need to stick to main dealers or specialist independents (I would use a specialist independent but there don't seem to be any within reasonable distance of where I live.)

i believe forte sponsor this scheme, and the garages involved sell forte products, which are generally only available to the trade. they are not lubricants as such but additives to cure all sorts of car related problems.if the customer has a problem with a garage following any work, then they can contact the scheme who will try to resolve the problem.

Forte also offer members of the good garage scheme disposal in an environmentally friendly way the hazardous waste created through servicing of vehicles through a third party company.
