Needs to be done with the car on a ramp or over a good inspection pit really.
Easier to get Quack Fit or similar to do it for you.

Yes, it would have to be re fitted to pass the MOT.

You can buy free flow sports CATS that do the job.

What spec are you running at the moment?

a decat pipe will also get you into lots of trouble if you happen to get a roadside emmisions test. not worth the grief IMHO.http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/repository/Roadside%20Emissions%20Check%20Leaflet%20.pdf

You'll need a ramp or inspection pit, some plus gas or other release agent and a good socket set/breaker bar OR better would be air tools for undoing the exhaust nuts.

In real life the de-cat wont make a lot of noticable difference on the open road. Get yourself a good free flow cat back system and stay legal IMHO.
Had a look at the web site -
You could take off the manifold and smooth out all the burrs etc or fit one of their free flow manifolds?
You could fit any good front mount intercooler then have the ecu re-mapped (that will be your biggest performance gain per ££.)

Google 'free flow catalyst converter' or 'sports high flow catalyst converter' and see what comes up ;)
