Replica rims are of inferior quality, are more likely to corrode and/or buckle.

The best thing I would say is to find a set of genuine good condition used ones on e-bay. That would be about £400 I reckon. It can be done.

think of it like buying a genuine rolex for £££££, or a £15.00 item from the local market.:D

Ebay ones are also uaually a lot heavier and will blunt your performance. Original Rs4's might have the wrong offset for your car too.

I have just bought some 18" rs4 alloys off tinternet, they were advertised as oem but I am not sure. The wheels on my car now are 17" oem with codes on front and back of alloy. The 18" only have codes on the front which do look like oem numbers but it doesn't have codes on the reverse.
Is there any other way of telling ?

Hi,
From the 2nd picture you can see the AUDI rings stamped into the wheel.
Also the rim size - 8.5Jx18.
The part number is visible aswell and relates to wheels fitted to RS4 Avant Quattros 2001/2002 and A6 Allroad Quattros 2000 - 2005
Im sure replicas do not have the AUDI rings stamped into them and most replica 18" wheels are only 8J - I think you be hard pushed to find replica RS4`s with rim width 8.5J - although not impossible.

Is you engine the 'AKE'? If so, is that the 180BHP version? Also, can you tel me what the price of your re-map was? and what a Sports Sway Bar does? Cheers

Yes 180 bhp, up to 210 now and 312 LBS/ft torque.
The re map was £250 special rates for users of this site with "chipped uk" you will find them on here.
The sway bar has reduced the roll on cornering, just a stiffer anti roll bar, it works very well.

There is a group buy for this at the moment... See the group buy section of the forum.

not 100% but i thought sway bars were ment to give a sway action to keep the tires as flat to the ground as poss. as you increase body roll
roll bar gives stiffness in corners to stop the angle of the tires being different
but again i could be wrong good topic tho
