The glo plug issue only actualy showed up when I updated the MMI system, amazing, not it woulnt be that would it? i know jack about cars and don't want to get rippped of by audi or the specialists, the specialist i saw was talking about getting a special man in to test engine presure and what not,is this right?

Thanks guys, really suck with this issue, and too many white vans are going just as fast as me :( i need my vavavoom back

Forgot to mention, the count is low because i reset all the codes the other day as some others from an issue with the door were showing up, but basicly i get this every day :(

Can anyone help, really stuck with this one, i have a feeling its either the mass airflow filter or the fuel lift pump.

Is your warranty up then? If not i'd just get it to audi and let them look.

Though your fuel pressure is low, shouldn't it be 1600 not 800 bar?

If you still have warranty, just get the dealer to sort the problems..

Glowplugs are what help a cold diesel engine start, they cause a hotspot to help combustion until the engine is warm enough, only cost a few quid each and fairly simple to fit.

just checked, not in warenty, 75,000 miles not 60,000 and missing two service stamps, god damit !!! any other ideas as to what this could be, the pipes around the engine are fine with no cracks.

btw thats £43 ex vat per hour + £18 for a gloplug so £100+ for a single glo plug change?

Was he waring a tri pointed hat?

To be honest I don't know on the v6 engine where the glow plug is but I can't imagine it would be to hard, there must be someone on here that has changed a v6 glowplug and will tell you how.

Hi Blackpenny,

Did you ever get to the bottom of your problem? I have a similar problem with my 2008 A6 2.7tdi. Glow plug light flashes if your go over 3000rpm or over about 80mph. Turning off ignition resets it. Fault codes P1063 etc.

They haven't been online since 2010 so highly doubt they will come back.
