mk5 golf service light

hi ya guys just had my car services at a vauxhall dealer as no vw garage in 15 mile radius to find out they won't or can't remove my service light is there any way of doing it myself or do i need to go to a dealership? any help would be greatfull:zx11:

I had this problem myself when I had my Mk5 Golf serviced. It was on " Long Life " service schedule and I couldn't get it reset.

Without the necessary equipment , I could only reset it manually to the normal 10k servicing.

My local VW agent refused to do the reset for me as they hadn't serviced the car ( certainly wasn't going to pay twice ).

Unless anyone else can tell you different of course :D

Either reset it manually ( instructions in manual ) and lose the variable servicing.

Or find someone who has VAG-COM living nearby who can help with the reset.
