I've been given a boxed lifeshine kit and was planning to treat my new golf which i collected yesterday, it's been driven home in the rain unfortunately, other than a good shampoo and dry do I need to do any other preparation, it's mainly the interior protection I want as grubby kids and alcantara seats could be a disaster

Hi

If you were given it for free then you may as well use it :D

I would also recommend this though for drying your golf, its much safer: Ultra Safe Drying Towel (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=44&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

In addition, check out the wash guide: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=50891

I'd say you would want to clay the car before. So wash, rinse, clay, wash, rinse, dry and then apply.
