hi, can anyone confirm that on a golf mk 5 2.0 tdi BKD engine when fuse 8 blows and faults logged for inlet maifold flap and cooling fan circuit it is the manifold flap assembly gears broken up internally.

I have BKD engine and had flap motor assembly replaced and 50km later EGR valve replaced, but I didn't have any fuses blown and I can't see any link between cooling fan problem and EGR system unless you were talking about intercooler...

It may not be broken up, it may just be clogged up with crap, which causes the flap to stick, which then causes the fuse 8 to blow. The first step, if possible is to strip the EGR out and clean it up, try and free the flap up as much as possible. As these are electronic, if it sticks it blows the fuse bcuz it sticks open.

If cleaning doesnt work, then may need a replacement. I need to replace mine, and went into VW yesterday and the part is £78 + VAT and maybe a 2quid gasket. thats for 1.9tdi but shud be similar for yours.

Tried cleaning it ,and replacing but just keeps coming uphttp://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt358/nevo_album/P1010139.jpging up again.fit a new one
