My indicators have stopped flashing when locking my 2000 A4 TDi. Also sometimes the lights start flashing a few minutes after the car has been locked. I think this might be the alarm going off but there is no sound??

I read the following codes with VAG-COM. Does anyone know what is wrong and what I need to fix?

Thanks.

Looks to be a faulty alarm system.have you checked the plugs etc. on the pump in the boot?

No I ahven't, what plugs and pump would these be? Is it the vacuum pump which operates the central locking? The locks seem to go up and down ok.

I think the pump connectors are fine having had a look but I am not sure where the alarm sounder is, I couldn't see very much underneath the rear light hand side light as it is quite cramped in there.

I cleared the codes in VAG-COM again and then locked/unlocked the car and this is what was reported afterwards.

Control Module Part Number: 8D0 862 257 E
Component and/or Version: CV-Pump, Alarm, RC D13
Software Coding: 15178
Work Shop Code: WSC 06435
3 Faults Found:
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
76-00 - Terminal 30 missing
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
77-00 - Internal Supply Voltage
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
49-00 - No Communications

So now I am wondering if the alarm horn was faulty would this prevent the alarm from arming properly and hence the lights not flash when locking?

I have read around that the backup batteries inside the alarm horn can go on B5s and it is a common problem. I am not particuarly fussed about having an alarm noise but it having my lights flash all night on their own will flatten the battery.

Oh and when I used VAG-COM it couldn't talk to a control module 46 (central convenience module) ut reported the errors under module 35 (central locking)

Is this just due to my car not having a newer central convenience mdule/controller or could it indicate that the CC module is bust?

My windows etc all seem to work just fine.
