Hello all,

i have a 1999 1.8T a3 and its really nice to drive apart from at low speeds and a gear slightly to high. for example when i am going say 15-20 mph and put it in second, unless i very very very slightly push the peddle it will judder hard until the speed increases slightly. Pulling off in first also as the same problem but not as bad and can be eliminated with slightly more revs than usual. i had a go in my mates 1.8T golf and even in 3rd at 20mph it didnt judder nowhere near as much as mine in second.

I know that if the gear is too high for the speed, any car will slightly judder but this feels much more than 'normal'. hard to explain unless you drive it i know, but was just wondering if any one as any suggestions.

thanks all

Sounds like a faulty coil pack.

Have you access to VAG-COM to get a fault code read done? Whereabouts are you, there may be a member nearby who has it?

Reckon there could be any number of things causing it including coil pack like already mentioned. Think a faulty MAF can cause misbehavin.
