Hi guys,

I ordered my new golf like a month ago :D I ordered it with the RCD510 + Dynaudio Excite 300W.

Anyone heared this system? What do you think about it? (I read the description about it on the Dynaudio website and the WorldCarFans website, but I didn't really understand anything :1zhelp: - I just need to know how it sounds (300W do not seem a lot!!)

Thanks VW lovers :D

hiya,

I've got this in my new golf, and it sounds fantastic. I've compared it with my other car's system which is the audi bose system this sounds much better in my opinion.

Hope this is of some help.

Sorry for replying again - By any chance - do you know the maximum SD size the RCD510 takes? (I cannot find any pdf manual online!!) and i need to buy an SD card beforehand.

Thanks!!

I'm using a 4gb sd card works fine. Not sure what the maximum is.

Hi and thanks for your replies.

Just a small question. If i am not mistaken, to use the USB Stick, you have to have the MDI (Multimedia interface) no? cos with the basic Jack Aux In you cannot connect a usb stick. Does this come with the Dynaudio Excite RCD510 pack?

Thanks :)

Yes to use the USB stick you do need the Multi Device Interface. The MDI comes as standard on the SE and GT versions and optional on the S models (UK spec) on RCD 310, 510 and RNS510. Its the Dynaudio pack that you have to specify extra on all models.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I am not from the UK so the one I order is the Golf Highline with RCD510 Dynaudio Excite system. Any idea if the MDI is part of that?

Thanks a lot :biglaugh:

I am not sure, it appears atleast looking at the german VW website, that the MDI is an options only feature on all models (except GTI?). maybe your local brochures might help ;)

Yea I checked that and in fact its an option. So I guess i have to go for an SD card - maybe it will take 16GB or at least 8GB. I'll see the manual when it arrives :)

Hi,
I am just thinking about ordering a new golf GT, specced with the rcd510 dynaudio system, I assume that when you spec this you still get the MDI and ipod cable, or is the MDI deleted when you select the rcd510 with dynaudio? Bit unsure as when i was speccing on the internet when I selected this sysytem it came up and said that the MDI would be removed, but the brochure says otherwise, whats everyone got out there?

Hi Alan,
YES you do get the MDI and iPod cables with the Dynaudio pack. The only thing you loose is the DAB set up.:approve:

I have the Dynaudio and i love it - it's far better than the Bose system in my old car - plenty of bass. I also have an 8gb SDHC card which works fine

Hi all,
Manic, please could you expand on the dab deletion when you order the RCD510 with Dynaudio. I thought the only thing affecting the choice of dab was the rear view camera.

H Andy,
Its the MDI that is incompatible with the DAB, I think you can get a Dynaudio & DAB setup but loose the MDI:Blush:

No pop ups about MDI deletion up on the MK6 GT website configurator when you select 510/Dynauadio with dab. Oddly though, when you select the 510/Dynaudio on the GTD/GTI configurator it deletes the MDI even without the dab selected??

Also don't get the MDI if you opt for DAB. SD cards works fine in mine.

Isnt there an external DAB solution somewhere? i.e. DAB sd card or receiver maybe?

Cheers, that looks just the job, cables may be a bit messy but at least I'll be able to listen to England whip the Aussies now.

Just bought the dab highway off ebay. I'll give thoughts on sound quality etc, when it turns up. Thanks for the tip Victor....

No problem...I bought one on Friday for my wife's Fiat 500. She's listens to DAB at home but as she's away with work at the moment, she's not tried the Highway yet.
