I've just bought some led tail lights for my 2006 Audi a6 avant.
I wonder if there is anyone near me who would be so kind as to update my car so it has led active. I have the instructions how to do it, just not the vag hardware.
I'd be happy to travel to a convenient location to you and also provide some beer tokens!
My post code area is cv34. I am m40 junction 13. So anyone in Birmingham or Coventry, or there about?

Thanks for any help

Paul, that's perfect. I get the LEDs next Friday 10th.
I'm not sure if the brake lights etc will still work without your update?

I can easily come over to you.
Bank holiday next weekend, so I have time Sunday & Monday to fit them
Maybe best if you let me know when you can be free and I will fit them round you.
Thankyou
Simon.

hi Simert
it would have to be sunday as im away from monday.
just thought you cant use any lights untill they been recoded as the recode is a voltage change. so if you fit them and use b4 the recode it will blow the lights. not a good idea as they cost loads.
i can help you fit them here ive got tools but need a plastic lever of some kind
will pm you my address

Paul, Sunday is fine. Let me know what time. I can be there anytime.
I got your PM, thanks.
I will write again Friday, once I've got the lights to reconfirm

Thank you so much.
Simon

Ps. I don't have a plastic tool to pop the lights out, but sure we can improvise. I don't mind if the old lights get damaged.

Paul, 10am is fine.

I'll have a look round for a plastic "something" too.
Didn't think about the paint. :o

Maybe if I get a screwdriver, and wrap it in loads of insulation tape?

Been racking my brains, but can't think of anything else..

I'll see you on the 12th.

Thanks once again!

Simon

ps. Not sure on your expertise, but my steering is making a strange noise. Maybe you could have a listen and have an idea what's wrong. Dealer is suggesting power steering fluid to be replaced, which they are doing on the 14th. I'm not convinced, sounds more like a seal rubbing or something
Just a thought.. :D

Paul, thankyou so much.
All I'd found was a square bit of plastic. LOL.

Steering noise I think is the slip ring, but would be great to hear what you think.

Although the noise seems to come and go. Am tempted just to live with it

See you Sunday.

Simon.

edit: Managed to leave work early today, so picked up the lights. So all set for Sunday. See you then.
